The “Resilience in activism” project aims to explore and share tools to strengthen personal and collective resilience. Through embodiment, somatic practices, expressive arts, and “The work that Reconnects” of Joanna Macy, participants will develop approaches that support wellbeing and sustainable engagement in eco-social activism and youth work.

YOUTH WORKER training
Call for participants
The Resilience in Activism residential seminar brings together 12 youth workers from Spain, Turkey, Rumania, France, Italy and Greece. During 5 working days, we will engage in experiential learning to develop practical tools to support wellbeing, resilience, and collective care in their communities.
When: 13th to 19th September 2026
Where: Ribes de Freser (Pyrennes), Catalonia, Spain

ABOUT THE PROJECT
Objectives
- To share practices of community care and resilience that strengthen collective support and the capacity to face challenges together.
- To enhance emotional resilience and promote self-care practices among young activists, change-makers, and those who accompany processes of social transformation.
- To introduce and share well-being, resilience, and self-regulation methods, based on expressive arts, the Work That Reconnects (WTR), and practices inspired by the Active Hope framework.
- To promote transnational support networks where youth workers and activists can exchange practices of care, solidarity, and long-term sustainability.
- To share tools for nervous system regulation, expressive arts, co-regulation, participatory methodologies, and embodied approaches to “living learning.”
- To promote forms of activism that are caring, restorative, and respectful of rest, boundaries, and self-care.
- To encourage mutual learning by highlighting different geopolitical realities and forging a community network that promotes freedom of expression, universal rights, and the health of the ecosystems we inhabit.

Resilience in Activism Online sessions:
– Coordination Meeting: 18th of June, 19 to 20h CET (Barcelona time).
– Webinar : 3rd of September at 19 to 21 CET (Barcelona time).
Resilience in Activism Residential Seminar: From the 13th to 19th of September of 2026 in Catalonia, Spain
Follow-ups: Whether individual or group actions, in the form of workshops, talks, or artistic responses, to be carried out in the participants’ community from September to November 2026. .
